Staffing

During the day time, there are always at least two Registered Nurses on duty. At night there is always at least one registered nurse on duty.

The Manager regularly works 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, although this is flexible according to the needs of the Home. Management on-call cover is provided either by the Registered Manager, or the Deputy Manager.

There are three shifts for fifty-two residents:

  • Early    8am-2pm         =          10 carers + 2 RGN
  • Late     2pm-8pm         =          7 carers + 2 RGN
  • Night 8pm-8am           =          4 carers + 1 RGN

There are also 4 additional carers between the hours of 7-8am each day and 2 additional carers between 8-10pm to provide extra support at the times when residents require it most.

Additional staff may be present due to the higher care needs of some residents. Additionally, there is a receptionist/administrator, chef, catering assistant, a laundry assistant and three domestic staff on duty each day.
